Next Step Update

Dear church family,
I am blown away by your love and generosity!
When we started our NEXT STEP Campaign a few weeks ago I had no idea at the time what God might do! I just knew, as a church we were believing God for some great things.
I was reflecting back three years ago when we did our Time to Build campaign and we took the largest onetime cash offering we’d ever taken. We raised just under $125,000 in cash in that offering! I’m sure a lot of people thought we would never be able to top that; and my response was simply, “You don’t know our Solid Rock church family!”
So at the end of our NEXT STEP campaign we once again took a onetime offering. This offering far surpassed the previous campaign’s cash amount! We took the largest offering ever taken in the history of Solid Rock! $208,000 dollars in cash was received on Commitment Sunday to go toward our new worship facility! Like I’ve said many, many times before this is the most generous church that I’ve ever been a part of!
Without a doubt our church will never be the same as a result of this historic moment. We have been part of an incredible miracle! Nobody can deny it! Nobody can rationalize it! Nobody can excuse it away! Nobody can ignore it! We have been a part of a miracle of generosity and nobody can take that away from us! All I can say is, “Congratulations!”
With the cash offering and the three year pledges, our total came to over $500,000 dollars given and pledged on a single Sunday. We did it without any gimmicks. We didn’t put anybody’s name on a plaque or on a chair. We didn’t put any thermometers on the wall. We didn’t have any cake sales or bake sales or candy sales or any of the typical fund raising things; because this was not a fundraiser! This was a campaign about spiritual growth and giving. What we did was teach the pure, unadulterated Word of God – and our church family responded. Boy did you respond! And no one got the glory out of this but Jesus Christ.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 11:2 to “Remember what you’ve learned about the Lord through your experiences with Him.” And in Deuteronomy 4:9 is says that we are to “Be careful to never forget what you have seen God doing for you. May His miracles have a deep and permanent effect upon your lives. Tell your children and your grandchildren.” Over the last several weeks we learned a lot of things about God; about ourselves, and about our church.
