As music directors in 1997, God prompted us to compose a song for our church's missions convention. The final line of the chorus says, "Yes, I will go to this dying world to bring them home to You. Pray the Lord of the harvest."? Soon, God posed this thought to us - "the authority of those words really will come when you say "yes" to going."
Just months later we came across an article in a missions? magazine about International Media Ministries (IMM). It was then that God planted the seed of application to the 'going' question. When we read this prayer request in regards to IMM, "please pray - we have a desperate need for personnel who have a passion to reach the lost through electronic media," God placed in us a burning call to be a part of the answer. After carefully walking through the many months of application and appointment we finally reached the point where we concluded our nearly 12 years of full-time ministry at Bethany Christian Assembly. Everett to begin the journey of the career Foreign Missionary.
Madrid, Spain is home to International Media Ministries, a primary producer and facilitator for media ministry resources. Media is fast becoming one of the most effective ways to communicate the gospel. "In any missions strategy today, media has to play a key foundational role," says John Merrell, IMM director. "It is impossible to significantly impact a nation or language group without media."? IMM's mission is to establish a global witness of Christ through media.
Its main emphases are illiterate outreach, children's outreach, media development, engineering solutions, and communications training. IMM produces materials and programs to meet specific needs of missionaries and national churches, installs equipment for indigenous media ministries worldwide, and trains leaders to operate equipment and use media to influence their countries for Christ.
